I could eat nothing but kicks and snares for breakfast, a punchline at lunchtime and I’d still get fatter. What we did here was to storm the music library of the local school of jazz, go home with four armfuls of records, chop ‘em, place ‘em, snip out those hihats and cymbals and whatnot, drop the beat on a headphone, write and spit.
